Who is Southern Generation?
In 2015, The Power Company Ltd and Electricity Invercargill Ltd joined with Pioneer Energy Limited to create the Southern Generation Limited Partnership. Southern Generation is therefore a 100% community owned business with roots in Otago and Southland.
Where are our assets?
The foundation assets of Southern Generation are Flat Hill wind farm, near Bluff, and the Mt Stuart wind farm, near Lawrence. Since then, hydro schemes at Aniwhenua and Matawai (Bay of Plenty), Upper Fraser (Central Otago), Matiri (Murchison), Speedys Road and Mangapehi (King Country) have joined the windfarms in the Southern Generation asset portfolio.
Southern Generation further owns several potential options for further development of renewable energy in various stages of pre-development.
